How we work with sources

Our principles

   Danish authorities first

   We mainly use Danish authorities, such as the Danish Agency for Civil Protection, the Danish Emergency Management Agency, the Danish Health Authority, the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration, the Danish Environmental Protection Agency, DMI and Danmarks Nationalbank.

   Other authorities when Danish ones don't cover a topic

   If the Danish authorities don't answer a specific question, such as how long a freezer lasts without power, we use other countries' public authorities, like the Swedish Food Agency or the U.S. FDA. We always say so clearly in the text.

   Every claim has a source

   Facts in our guides carry a numbered reference that links straight to the source. The full source list is at the end of every guide.

   We don't say more than the sources do

   We stick to the authorities' wording, especially on health. We don't use fear to sell, and we don't promise more than the sources cover.

   Dates you can see

   The date at the top of each guide shows when we last updated it. If a source has a publication date, it's in the source list.

   Guides and shop are kept apart

   Our guides are free and stand on their own. Product links are clearly marked, and we also recommend things we don't sell, such as food, medicine and iodine tablets.
